Al - Araqib village
The village Al-Araqib is an unrecognized Bedouin settlement in the Negev desert. The Israeli authorities have been consistently demolishing the village, a process that continues to this day. The village is supported by human rights activists, among them Jessica Sharon.
Jessica’s involvement manifests through several initiatives: organizing protest activities; actively supporting and executing art projects with the residents; making the village’s tragedy a consistent, central theme in her own artworks and publishing them on various platforms; and providing emotional support and human respect to the villagers by hosting them in her home and visiting the community.
The activity of Jessica, alongside Einat Weizman and other activists, serves as a direct source of strength for the villagers during their most difficult moments. This support is crucial in the face of the state’s enforcement forces, whose actions towards the residents are often perceived as rapacious and brutally violent.
